which translated means, "The Breasts of the Earth.

This is a velvet ant, I nick named it the "Pom Pom Ant" because of the two velvety red primary body parts. The velvet ant is
not really an ant at all, but a specie of female wasp. The females do not fly, and the males spend their day flying along the ground looking for
females. Although until we reached Colorado, we had never seen one of these, but on a typical hike if you are watching the ground you will see
many of them.
