- Perkins Central Garden Trail
Perkins Central Garden Trail in Garden of the Gods park, Colorado Springs, Co, is a trail of impressive rock formations. The trail is about 1.5 miles, and is paved and suitable for strollers, wheel chairs, and all family members.
- Siamese Twins Trail - Family hiking
The Siamese Twins trail is another trail suitable for family hiking. It is difficult with a stroller, especially when wet or muddy, wheel chairs would be nearly or completely impossible.
There are a lot of hiking trails in the Colorado Springs area, some of which are in park like settings, others are in
wilderness areas. No matter where they are in parts or in the wilderness, it is excepted and requested practice that hikers and
visitors to the area stay on the trails that are clearly marked or worn.
There are advantages to both park trails as well as wilderness trails. Many park trails such as those in the Garden of
the Gods are already designed and laid out in such a way as to give the hiker the benefit of some of the most unusual and unique rock
formations within the park. Park trails are designed with this in mind, to lead people to the points of interest without just wildly
trampling the entire area. This keeps areas like this nice for people like you and us when we would like to visit areas like that.
There are also lots of wilderness areas hiking trails around the Colorado Springs area. For instance if you travel
northwest on US 24 just past Manitou Springs on the right-hand side is a turnout at a trailhead that takes you into the mountains in the
wilderness area. In managed to strain this is the incline which used to be the old cog Railway that went to the top of Pikes Peak.
So as we continue to explore the many different trails and areas, we will post them here along with information regarding
whether these are family friendly trails or whether they should be limited to the more experienced and stronger individuals. The
Colorado Springs as hiking trails for everybody from the child to the experienced rock climber, from foothills to a 14,000 foot peak.
